Self-Esteem Quotes on Building Confidence and Self-Worth

Self-esteem quotes can help boost your confidence and self-worth when you’re working on awakening and rising.

They provide much needed support and inspiration when you are on your journey and start to feel down or like the process is pointless.

But keep one thing in mind: you must be actively working on yourself to these quotes to mean anything to you.

Otherwise, they will fall flat, on deaf ears.

Confidence Is an Inside Job

If you are lacking in confidence, you have work to do, and it will not be easy.

I do not want to be the bearer of bad news, but it is a simple and irrevocable truth that truly the only way to gain confidence is to do things that make you confident, and the only way to do those things is to believe first that you can.

Abraham Hicks notes that you cannot jump from one feeling to its extreme opposite in a single leap.

You cannot go from depressed to happy in moments.

You cannot go from afraid to fearless in a single bound.

You must work your way up the scale.

One of the most difficult challenges people put themselves up to is this great feat of leaping from one extreme to the other.

Then, when they fail, they say, “see? Impossible.”

It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So what you have to do to overcome your own sense of failure, which is a natural byproduct of a lack of self-confidence, is to begin small and grow from there.

The nice thing about this approach is that it does not take long to see significant change once you get started.

And, once you do see that change, you remember it for next time.

So when you fall again, when you fail again, when you are down again, you will know that rising is in fact possible, and you already have the steps in place to do it.

As Abraham Hicks says, you can never get it wrong, and you will never get it done.

You are here to do great things, and maybe, just maybe, one of those great things is rising from a place of hopelessness.

Then, self-esteem quotes help as a bolster to your process.

Let’s begin within.

The Rising to Confidence Process

Wanting

The very first step to gaining confidence is to want it.

Wanting is the beginning of all things.

Remember, according to the law of attraction, and pretty much all practical laws of physics, a thing is a thought before it is a thing.

You will not be confident before you want to be confident.

So congratulations. You have already completed step one.

Believing

Next, you have to believe that it is at least possible.

You cannot do something you are convinced is impossible.

To help when you are not sure you can accomplish something, when you are convinced that it is you that is the problem, that others have it so much better, so much easier, it helps to hear from those who have risen before from nothing.

Like a female scientists in a world full of male scientists who were not only convinced women could not join them but actively tried to shut this woman out:

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all else confidence in ourselves. We must believe we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”

~ Marie Cure

Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, in 1903, and then the first person to ever receive two!

She did her work out of her own barn behind her home, with her husband who was also a scientist.

She was the first female professor at Sorbonne University France, and she led a life of determination and diligence.

She did not come from a glorious background. Her father was a secondary school teacher and gave her a brief education in science, and then she left her home in Warsaw, Poland, when her family realized conditions there would only worsen under Russian rule.

She kept going.

That’s it.

She knew there was something to her journey, and she kept going.

It was not easy, but she refused to give up.

Most of us do not have the barriers to overcome that someone like Madame Curie did, so hearing stories like hers should boost our confidence

If she can overcome that, we can overcome this.

Whatever “this” may be.

Now, you have established the mental foundation for building confidence, wanting and believing.

Next, it is time to implement some practical physical steps to growing your confidence.

You must lay the foundation for confidence in your life.

A great place to begin is with the advice given by psychologist, speaker, and author Jordan Peterson.

Stand up straight with your shoulders back, clean your room, put your house in order.

Basically, get your crap together.

If you want to build confidence, build a life that makes you proud.

Start with yourself.

Doing

You have to take action.

First, exercise.

Exercise is the single quickest way to build confidence in yourself because it serves multiple purposes.

It improves your digestion, it makes you feel better, lighter on your feet, and healthier, it boosts your mental health and happy chemicals, and it makes you feel stronger.

It also helps you sleep better.

So that is your next step: sleep.

If you are short on sleep, or even on restful sleep, you will feel like crap.

If you have been having trouble sleeping, that could be a major contributor to your lack of self-confidence.

And you may even think you are getting plenty of sleep, but you are not getting restful sleep. If you wake up groggy and tired, you are not getting restful sleep.

Exercise helps with that.

Aim for 8 to 9 hours of sleep, so even if you fall short, you will be sure to hit the bare minimum of 7 hours of sleep.

Next, when you wake up, before you do anything else, meditate.

Meditating for 20 minutes every morning will help you clear your head, silence your thoughts, and quiet your mind

When you can sit in that quiet space, you can connect with your higher self, the part of you that loves you unconditionally, always has your back, and is always guiding your toward your purpose, your highest good.

Don’t worry if you can’t silence your thoughts at first. It takes a lot of practice, patience, and persistence to get to the point where you are truly silent and still for a full 20 minutes.

It can help to do some gentle yoga first to wake up your body and put it at ease and to chant a few “ooooommmmmmm” sounds at the beginning of your meditation

Relax and trust the process.

Meditation is perhaps one of the most healing acts you can take for your mind, body, and spirit.

A few self-esteem quotes on meditation go as follows:

“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.”

~ Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati

“Learn to be calm, and you will always be happy.”

~ Paramahansa Yogananda

“When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a candle in a windless place.” ~ Bhagavad Gita

It pays off in dividends to instill and hold a regular meditation practice for your confidence.

When you realize you are connected to all of life, that you are the creation of an infinitely loving and powerful energy source, and that you are a spirit having a human experience, you cannot help but be immensely confident.

Finally, eat well.

Eating whole foods – plants, nuts, seeds, clean meats, all organic, without added chemical and artificial ingredients – you step into that connection between you and all of life.

You actively participate in your role on earth as a human being, not a human doing.

Treat your body like a temple, and it will reward you with strength and confidence.

Self Esteem Quotes for Moving Forward

Put those practices into place and follow through every single day – exercise, sleep well, meditate, and eat well – and you will notice your love of self, your faith in yourself and the divine, and your confidence growing exponentially.

And when you feel low self-esteem, take heart with these self-esteem quotes:

“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”

~ Vincent Van Gogh

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.”

~ Mark Twain

“It is best to act with confidence, no matter how little right you have to it.”

~ Lillian Hellman

Remember, true self-esteem comes from within. The entire universe is rooting for you, and that is a beautiful thing, not a selfish act. Inspiring quotes can help build healthy self-love, one of the best things, one of the greatest accomplishments you can have.

The definition of your life will be the good things you did, not how much time you spent on social media, which breeds the worst loneliness there is.

Strong mental health, along with unconditional self love, is the greatest thing you can do for a good self-image, and you are the only person who can build that high self-esteem.

Every day can be the best day of your life; you just have to let your own light shine in the face of real difficulty and your deepest fear. Face your own fear, live your real life, and act with true nobility, and you simply cannot fail to get through the valley of change an into the right place.

Not trying will be one of your greatest regrets.

Happy manifesting!
