Make Tarot Reading Part of Your Morning Routine

Tarot reading is one of my all-time favorite forms of divination.

So of course I build it into my daily routine, and even more importantly, into my daily routine.

Anything we make a daily routine becomes a habit, and anything that becomes a habit embeds itself into our subconscious.

And anything in our subconscious drives who we are as individuals in our daily lives.

So yes.

Whoever you are, whoever you say you are, whoever you want to be, you must be that person daily.

I am a witch.

So I do witchy stuff every day.

Does it get witchier than tarot?

Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself

I remember a while back everyone was talking about how it takes 30 days to form a habit.

Then it was 21 days

Then it was 10,000 hours to become an expert.

Now, all these years later, I find myself thinking “who cares!?”

Who cares how long it takes?

This is your whole life we’re talking about.

You’re not creating habits to change who you are for a little while.

You are literally breaking the habit of being yourself and forming new habits to be a whole new person.

You have decided that you want to be this other, better, more complete version of yourself.

Joe Dispenza talks about this concept in his book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself

“If you want a new outcome, you will have to break the habit of being yourself, and reinvent a new self.”

~Joe Dispenza

All of your bad habits and behaviors reside in your subconscious mind, and it is up to us to unlock that subconscious mind, flush out all the crap, and fill it gently with the ways and means of who we want to be.

That all begins with the formation of new, healthy habits.

Seeking the Divine

You’ve heard the Rumi quote, “what you seek is seeking you?”

That is classic law of attraction right there.

You attract what you are.

Whatever you are focusing on is also focusing on you.

If you are in search of the divine, God, Source Energy, know that the divine is always seeking you.

As Abraham Hicks says, Source Energy is constantly flooding you with joy and appreciation, with inspiration for your path, with showers of love.

It is up to us to open up to it.

For me, tarot is a great way to do this because I am claircognizant.

The Clairs

Mat Auryn, in his book Psychic Witch, outlines the clairs well.

He notes that each one of us humans is born with four metaphysical senses as much as we are born with our five physical senses.

We all know we can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell.

But we forget so easily that we also have the ability to see, hear, feel, and know things outside of the physical world.

Some of us call it intuition; others call it a sixth sense.

They are all, always present for us.

Clairaudience is the ability to hear things beyond the physical world.

Clairsentience is when you just get feelings from outside of physical awareness.

Clairvoyance is the most commonly known, when you can see things with more than your physical eyes.

And Claircognizance is the least commonly known; it is the ability to “just know.”

I had no idea I was claircognizant for almost my entire life.

I was spending time with other homeschool moms one day in a playgroup and I was expressing light jealousy for a mom who was clairvoyant.

She had clear medium powers and worked with clients to heal past trauma.

“I’ve never been able to tap into magical or mystical powers, and I always wanted to.” I told her.

She looked me right in the eyes and said, “you’re claircognizant.”

Whaaaaaat?

As soon as she said it, it hit me.

I had always known.

I had always, always, just known.

Friends and family members have always come to me for insight.

Even when I was a very young girl, older women in my family would come to me for advice or spill their secrets to me.

I always told the truth, lovingly but directly.

And I was always right.

I have never been taken advantage of, and my feelings about people have always been spot on.

The only time I have ever been off about someone or a situation has been when I was in a spiritually blocked, ego heavy place.

And of course, a lifetime of being right will easily lead you down the path toward self-righteousness, which my poor friends and family had to endure for most of my twenties.

Sorry, guys.

But finally, it was all coming clear.

I just knew.

Mastering Your Craft

Once you accept that we are all born with these supernatural gifts, and that for some of us, a single gift is stronger than others, you can begin to work on honing your skills.

Just like with our natural gifts, we must practice our craft to master it.

Michael Jordan played basketball after school every single day relentlessly before becoming the greatest of all time.

Stephen King started writing stories as a young child and dedicated himself to the art of writing for all his waking hours.

Albert Einstein sat with his work, in solitude and silence for hours on end.

Whatever it is you are working on, you must dedicate yourself to it fully.

You don’t have to want to be a practicing witch. Maybe you just want to introduce more spirituality into your life.

And a daily tarot reading is a great way to do it.

But yes, it must be daily, and you must commit to doing it every day no matter what.

As a mother of young children, sometimes my kids keep me up at night, so I am not able to rise early enough to get my full morning routine in, but it is so set in stone now that I manage to make time throughout my day to get all my little morning duties done before bedtime.

Tarot Readings and Your Morning Routine

Tarot cards are a magical way to communicate with the divine if you allow them to be tools, not hard, set, rigid rules.

Tarot cards originated from simply playing cards and evolved through mysticism and ancient wisdom to what they are today – ways of seeing your life.

Remember that there are many interpretations of each tarot card, that they must be read with an open heart, an open mind, and in context of your life and the other cards pulled.

As a morning routine, tarot readings are a great path into a mindful, connected, aligned day.

They are one way to set the tone for your day.

One important note: the Universe, God, Source Energy does not speak in bad omens.

You will never get a caution that something bad is going to happen. You will never be turned away from something.

As a creative energy, the Universe is incapable of negativity.

It will only lead you toward positivity.

So negative cards may be telling you about where you have been or where you are currently, for that is just neutral truth, but future, fortune telling, is only an opportunity for growth and change, not a scary caution to be afraid of.

To establish your morning tarot reading routine, you must get into divine space.

Your Morning Routine

Try to wake up with the sun, make your bed, and brush your teeth and scrape your tongue.

Drink a full glass of water with a splash of lemon juice to get your digestive tract moving.

This is waking up and opening up energy.

Take a walk outside, meet the day, face the sun, and get your feet on earth.

When you come back inside, practice some gentle yoga for a few minutes to ease yourself into a soft space, and then sit for 20 minutes of meditation

During your meditation, do a full body scan, from head to toe, clear your chakras, and allow yourself to sink into your higher consciousness state.

When you come out of meditation, express gratitude to the four elements, and commit to good thoughts, good words, and good deeds for the day.

If you drink coffee or tea, make your cup of specially prepared brew, stirring in your sweeteners and creams, practicing your kitchen magic

Finally, sit with your cup in your sacred space, and pull your tarot cards out.

Shuffle them, turning them this way and that, taking your time.

Then, divine the deck into three piles.

Pick the pile that speaks most to you, and bring your three piles back together, with the pile you chose on top.

Now, deal yourself three cards, facing them up as they pull.

In order from left to right, these cards represent you, your path, and your potential.

I love Biddy Tarot for open interpretations.

Check out the site, read your cards, and journal how you interpret them in supportive and loving ways.

Over time, you will find yourself getting excited to do your daily tarot readings, and you may even find yourself offering readings to your friends.

Happy manifesting!
