What Stones Represent the 7 Chakras: All You Need to Know

If you are just entering the world of crystals, stones, and other objects of the occult, it can feel very confusing to organize in your brain.

What do these stones mean? What gives them power?

These questions and more come up over and over as you study energy and begin to work with universal energetic forces.

When I first began, it was helpful for me to understand the basics of energy, the way the universe works, and what my part in it was. From there, I studied the chakras, and only then did it make sense to begin collecting and utilizing crystals.

It is only at that point that you can understand what stones represent the 7 chakras and how to use them well.

Energy Is Everything

The first and most basic premise of working with the universe, whether you call yourself a witch, a spiritual person, a Christian, a secular manifester, you name it, is that energy is everything.

Albert Einstein said it best: “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

Basically, for anything you want, you must match the frequency of the energy you are seeking.

You want to be happy, you must match the frequency of happiness.

You want love, you must become love, give love, embody love.

You want money, you must become wealth, abundance, get into a giving and receiving mode.

This is the law of attraction at its most basic.

The Most Powerful Law of the Universe

The law of attraction is the most powerful universal law, even more than gravity, because, of course, there are exceptions to gravity, variations on gravity, and gravity only holds true from planet to planet.

The law of attraction is universal and fixed.

The law of attraction is what we think of often as karma. It matches your frequency and vibration, sending out to you whatever you send out to the universe.

Abraham Hicks, the most widely recognized voice on the law of attraction, likes to joke that as Esther, the woman who channels Abraham, will go throughout her day and recognize her role in the law of attraction.

For every good thing that happens, she will say “I did that!” with a bright sunny smile on her face.

And for every bad thing that happens, she will shrug and say, knowingly, “yep. I did that.”

You are responsible for every single thing that happens to you. That is the law of attraction. You brought this into your life for some reason, whatever it is. Now work with it to your benefit.

Shift Your Energy and the Universe Shifts with You

And that is where the chakras come into play to help you focus your energy. Because while the law of attraction is a fixed, unbiased, and unbending law, it is always matching your energy.

As soon as you shift your energy, the law of attraction will begin to shift its energy toward you as well. You can change things in the blink of an eye.

One of my favorite stories from the Bible is the one about the prodigal son. It is a great metaphor for working with the universe, God, the gods, law of attraction, whatever source you’re working with.

The prodigal son left his father behind and traveled miles and days, weeks and continents, months under the hot sun through trials and tribulations, so far stretched from the source of love and all that was good.

Then, once he realized what he was doing, how he was the cause of his own suffering, that he belonged with his loving father, he merely had to turn around and he was back home.

He did not have to wander back over miles of desert and months of suffering.

Bam. He was just there.

That is how it works with energy, God, the source, the universe.

Shift your energy and the law of attraction shifts to match you.

And God, the universe, source, is always always loving you and holding space for you, ready for you to shift.

The Chakras and the Stones

Each of the chakras, then, represent an opportunity to shift your focus.

And each chakra has several stones that help you have a tangible object to hold in your hand or in your gaze for that focus.

Begin Where You Are

Of the 7 chakras, it is best to begin where you are most hurting. Work with your negative energy to climb the ladder from darkness into the light.

If you are lost in love, begin with growing compassion in your heart for yourself. Then send out compassion to others. Then work to find ways to be more loving to others. Truly loving, not a martyr. Love yourself, then love others. You will find, before you know it, that you are surrounded by love.

Each of the chakras works this way.

Focus on the chakra, start small with manageable energy you believe in, and then grow that energy and that focus until you are clear and fulfilled in that space.

Each of the chakras has an energetic center, a way to grow that energy, and crystals to represent a tangible focal point.

• Root Chakra

The root chakra is where you are grounded, rooted in the earth and all of the energy we created when our larger consciousness created this earth. Every single thing on earth is made of the same material, the same energy, that was present from inception.

It is critical, indeed it is the foundation of all you do, to be rooted into the earth that is your home, that connects us all.

Stones to help you focus on this grounding include garnet for regeneration.

And black obsidian for raw earthly energy.

• Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra, located where you will find a woman’s womb, is the seat of all of our creative energy. If you are an artist and feeling blocked, if you hope to build a business, or if you just want more joy in your artistic hobbies, clear and expand upon your sacral chakra.

Stones to help clear and grow the sacral chakra include carnelian for vibrancy and fertility.

And orange calcite for creative expression.

• Solar Plexus Chakra

Your solar plexus chakra is where you get your gut feelings, your sense of knowing. It is your strength, where you hold boundaries, where you learn to “do not harm but take no shit.” A clear solar plexus chakra allows you to walk tall with your shoulders back.

To clear this space up and grow your inner strength keep a citrine stone with you for positive vibes and confidence and a tiger’s eye for strength and a bit of wildness.

• Heart Chakra

The most obvious chakra, the heart chakra is your deepest sense of love and well-being. A blocked heart chakra can find you either repeatedly victimized by false love or closed off and incapable of open and warm love.

To clear this chakra out, carry a rose quartz with you everywhere you go. It will remind you to keep your heart open, but to also love yourself enough to recognize false love and red flags.

• Throat Chakra

“Speak your truth and accept the consequences.” Acclaimed clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson talks at length about how important it is to tell the truth and just follow that where it goes. It is probably one of the biggest societal problems we have today.

So many people are afraid to tell the truth. To speak up. To just be your authentic self. It all begins with just telling the truth.

To unblock your throat chakra and begin to live your most authentic life, keep an amazonite stone with you for emotional balance as you navigate this tricky approach to life.

Also have a lapis lazuli with you for inspiration to great words.

• Third Eye Chakra

Your third eye chakra is essential to seeing the world clearly as it is. Another tricky approach to life, actually opening your eyes.

It can be scary to see things as they are because then you actually have to confront the world as it is, but it is truly the only way to be your most authentic self and manifest all you want.

To help open your third eye chakra, keep an amethyst with you to stay in a spiritual space, calming frustrations as you open up to the harsh realities of the world.

Azurite is a great stone for tapping into your psychic vision, ripping through the veil of ignorance.

• Crown Chakra

And finally, the crown chakra is your connection to the large, broad, universal source of all energy. It is your direct line to God.

Open this chakra and you are in your divine space, with no barriers between your human side and your god side. Your intuition is strong and clear, and you know you have everything you need to move forward.

Keep a clear quartz crystal with you always for clarity on all issues.

It is also helpful to have a lepidolite with you to clear out anxiety and bring in peace as you make this strong connection.

Remember, the stones are only as strong and effective as you believe they are. You must draw on your energy from within and from source and rely on the stones to hold that tangible space and serve as firm objects of focus.
